Tai Chi Fusion Classes

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese system of exercise and martial art, which dates back over 3,000+ years. This holistic system focuses on improving your health by integrating your body, mind, and spirit through movement, breath, and visualization. By learning to control your own body’s movements, you can quiet your mind, nourish your spirit, and strengthen your body from the inside out.

Classes provide you with a dynamic and progressive skill building program featuring the foundational skills and basic principles unique to Tai Chi. Learn basic Tai Chi postures, Qi Gong exercises, meditation, and self-care tips. You’re welcome and encouraged to take ongoing classes as each series offers unique seasonal exercises and various forms. Consistent practice yields the best results.

SUMMER SCHEDULE – TAI CHI ON THE BEACH

WHEN:  Wednesdays, July 5 – August, 30, 2017*
TIME:  6 – 7 pm
INVESTMENT:  $10 per person per class drop-in rate
WHERE:  Brick Beach 3 (next to the old “Thunderbird”), 440 Route 35 N, Brick, NJ.
Meet Jennifer on the beach to the right of the walkway along the fence line.
WHO:  Ages 16 and up. All levels and abilities welcome. No previous experience needed.
NOTES:

  • *This is an outdoor class, please note class will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather (rain and thunder and lightning)
  • New students:  arrive 15 minutes early for your first class
  • Wear comfortable clothes (layers in case you get too warm or cold), bring water to drink and a towel
  • Handouts are provided
  • Feel free to bring a journal for notes
  • No previous experience is necessary
  • All levels welcome

CLASS DESCRIPTION:  Join us on the beach and share fun, simple and effective Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Eastern healing techniques that nurture, balance and restore. Explore and learn about whole body movement, breath, massage, visualization, meditation and your own inner wisdom. Experience enhanced body awareness, improved balance, strength and flexibility, and increased energy, mental clarity and calmness.

CLASS DESCRIPTION:  Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques, and focused intention.

Qi Gong (Chi Kung) is composed of two Chinese words. The first word, Qi, is pronounced chee and means the life force or vital energy that flows through all things in the universe. The second word, Gong, pronounced gung, means accomplishment, or skill that is cultivated through steady practice. Together, Qi Gong (Chi Kung) means cultivating energy or working with life force energy.

Enjoy this low impact way to exercise as you learn breathing and relaxation techniques, gentle stretches, and simple easy-to-remember movements that will improve your strength, balance, and coordination. This powerful yet gentle 30 minute Gentle and Restorative Qi Gong class is perfect for anyone looking to stay or get healthy and increase vitality, prevent chronic illness, and relieve the symptoms of aging and disease.

No previous experience is needed. Students needing wheelchairs and/or walkers are welcome.

  • All oils, creams, extra sheets, and handouts will be provided.
  • During the massage portion of the workshop, each recipient will be draped appropriately at all times to ensure everyone’s privacy will be respected.

CLASS DESCRIPTION:  Touch is necessary to life and offering massage is truly a gift of the heart. This workshop will teach you how to share massage with your loved ones safely and comfortably. Experience and learn basic massage techniques for relaxation and healing, the use and application of oils and creams, and the do’s and don’ts of massage. Self-care techniques and proper body mechanics will also be covered.

Join this wonderful workshop in the ancient art of self-care massage that will help heal, tone, and prevent illness. This class will teach you simple and easy-to-learn massage techniques that you can perform on yourself to help relieve the symptoms of common ailments such as sinus congestion, headaches, general aches and pains, digestion and elimination problems, low energy, and stress. Discover additional ways you can improve your overall health and well-being through breathe and meditation practices.

CLASS DESCRIPTION:  Reflexology is a wonderful and effective massage technique used to enhance the body’s own healing process. Results are accomplished by stimulating specific reflex points on the feet and hands that correspond to organs, glands, joints, limbs, and body parts.

This workshop will provide you with the opportunity to learn the basic reflex points of the feet and hands and how to apply them to yourself and others to relieve stress and tension and maintain good health.
