CLASS DESCRIPTION:  Foundations Yoga is perfect for novices, beginners, seasoned yogis who are resuming their practice after an illness or injury, or anyone who is simply looking for a refresher. This class will guide you through proper structural alignment and how to safely modify each pose to your body’s own unique needs. You will explore the power of your breath and learn how to link your breath with movement for greater strength and balance. You will also be introduced to basic meditation and philosophy to deepen your knowledge and practice. Foundation Yoga will provide you with the important building blocks to empower you and build confidence both on and off the mat.

No previous experience is necessary. Yoga mats are provided if you don’t have your own.


Tai Chi Fusion with Jennifer on Wednesday Mornings*

CLASS DESCRIPTION:  Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese system of exercise and martial art, which dates back over 3,000+ years. These series will focus on improving your health by integrating your body, mind, and spirit through movement, breath, and visualization. By learning to control your own body’s movement, you can quiet your mind, nourish your spirit, and strengthen your body inside and out.

This 4-week series will provide you with a dynamic, progressive skill-building program outlining the principles unique to Tai Chi. You will learn basic Tai Chi postures from the Chen Form, Qi Gong exercises, meditation, and self-care tips. Some of the benefits include:

  • Improve your balance
  • Tone and strengthen your body
  • Increase your flexibility

  • Create greater mindfulness
  • Cultivate heightened body awareness

Gentle and Restorative Qigong with Jennifer on Wednesday Mornings*

CLASS DESCRIPTION:  Qigong is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques, and focused intention.

Qigong (Chi Kung) is comprised of two Chinese words. The first word, Qi, is pronounced chee and means the life force or vital energy that flows through all things in the universe. The second word, Gong, pronounced gung, means accomplishment, or skill that is cultivated through steady practice. Together, Qigong (Chi Kung) means cultivating energy or working with life force energy.

Enjoy this low impact way to exercise as you learn breathing and relaxation techniques, gentle stretches, and simple easy-to-remember movements that will improve your strength, balance, and coordination. This powerful yet gentle 30 minute Gentle and Restorative Qigong class is perfect for anyone looking to stay or get healthy and increase vitality, prevent chronic illness, and relieve the symptoms of aging and disease.

No previous experience is needed. Students needing wheelchairs and/or walkers are welcome. Please wear comfortable clothes (layers in case you get too warm or cold) and water to drink.
